WINTER ON VENGSØY
Winter is quiet here.
Snow settles around the cabins, the sea turns dark and still, and the days move at a slower pace. Some evenings the northern lights dance across the sky.
Other days bring soft snow, winter storms, or calm blue light over the mountains.
This is the season for snowshoe walks, sauna evenings, cold sea dips,
and warm meals shared around the table.
You can hike to the mountain tops if you want to — or simply stay close to the cabins,
light a fire, and enjoy the stillness.
Winter on Vengsøy is less about rushing from one activity to another,
and more about slowing down enough to truly experience where you are.

Northern Lights
Some evenings, the sky suddenly comes alive.
Step outside the cabin, look up, and watch the northern lights move quietly above the island.
No crowds.
No noise.
Just you and the Arctic sky.
Sauna & cold dips
Warm up in the sauna, then take a cold dip in the sea.
It’s refreshing, energising, and strangely calming all at once.
Many of our guests say it becomes one of the highlights of their stay.

Snowshoe walks
Strap on snowshoes and head out into
the winter landscape.
The island becomes quieter in winter,
and the only sound might be
the snow beneath your feet.
Hundbergtinden
A favourite winter hike on the island.
The walk to Hundbergtinden rewards you with wide open views of sea, mountains and Arctic light — especially beautiful on calm winter days.
